This is certainly a burning question if you are preparing a large family holiday meal! You need to know what you can make ahead and how far ahead you can prepare it since there is so much food to make!
Two days would be as far ahead time as you should prepare deviled eggs, but if you do want to make them ahead, we suggest you don’t “complete” them until you are ready to set them out to serve.
To prepare deviled eggs ahead:
- Boil eggs, cut and make the filling as you normally would.
- Store the egg whites and the deviled egg filling separately in airtight containers.
You can even store the filling in the piping bag you plan to use. Just don’t snip off the tip yet, and use a clip to secure the top.
